Re: Help, what have I done to my 3040 ?

Evening Dave I have enquired about a replacement belt and rollers, they are certainly well worn, but I have my doubts about this being the cause. I can't make the belt slip with my hands. I am hoping that these are available from HPC, to continue their run of first class service. If this does not so...

Help, what have I done to my 3040 ?

While setting up to engrave a picture earlier, I accidently left some text off the side of the screen. When the laser reached this point it tried to engrave outside it's working area untill I hit the stop button. In this situation the machine makes a horrible noise as the belt is forced to slip. I d...

Re: Help - 3040 problems.

Just to tie up this thread - I have just replaced the power supply and all is well again. Huge thanks to Dave ( Spooky ) and Chris at HPC for their superb support.

Re: Help - 3040 problems.

Hi again Dave Thanks again for your perseverence. I had tried the single direction - twice as long for the same result ! More power and less speed seems to fill in the missing bits of my 'E'. This means that I can do some of my work ( deep relief engraved jewellery etc) , but not my main line, photo...

Re: Help - 3040 problems.

Morning Dave I installed Newlydraw and the machine driver on a different pc - same result. I had a close look at every connection and found a loose earth on the transformer and got all excited. I shouldn't have. when I reconnected it securely, I still got the same result ! Getting frustrated now. Th...

Re: Help - 3040 problems.

Hi Dave Thanks for your response. The machine cuts perfectly, nothing seems loose. I will install Newlydraw on a differnt computer tomorrow to see if that helps, rather than uninstall on this one. If I try to engrave a capital letter 'E' at 400mmps I get the top, middle and bottom horizontals, nothi...

Help - 3040 problems.

I have a 3040 ( Newlydraw ) and have, for the last 2 years, done mainly photo engraving. Last week strange things started to happen - a marked drop in picture quality was the first thing that I noticed, with only the darkest areas being visible. I suspected the tube and did a test, cutting 10mm acry...
