Re: Any other software than Lasercut ?
Thank you all for your answers. Over time, I have found a path to get the things I want to do sorted and overall I am very happy with my machine. It is more a annoyance rather than a real problem. I use mostly Autodesk Inventor for creating the things I want to make. I use my machine for hobby and h...

Re: Any other software than Lasercut ?
Hi Dave !, Thanks for the reply. Do you know if it is easy to swap the controller board ? Has anybody tried already. I have built a few CNC controlled tools like X-Carve and CNC-Mill, the main board looks like a straight swap for an "open" board, but I am not confident on the "laser&q...

Any other software than Lasercut ?
Hi all, Has anybody managed to use any other software than lasercut 5.3 with the laserscript machines ? I have had my 6040 for a few years now, but I find the software very average. It really struggles to read modern file formats of illustrator or exports of DXFs from CAD softwares. It is really lac...

Re: USB Dongle Not working anymore
Hi everybody, Thanks for all the replies. Yes, I ordered a replacement from HPC it was 150+VAT. It was all fixed within a couple of days. I was moving the USB key from one machine to an other (PC) and it failed. The light does not come on anymore and windows does not recognise the usb being plugged ...

Re: USB Dongle Not working anymore
Hello,
I ordered a replacement dongle from HPC and got it the following day.
All is back in good working order.
Those things are expensive...I am now very careful in plugging it nicely etc....
Best
Oli

Re: Hello world
Hello and welcome. Got a 6840 myself a few months ago, still learning...simple squares were my first cuts. Just finished my makerbot as well and printed a cube...as my hello world nothing as fancy as yours... Since managed to laser cut a few boxes with m3 screws slots for my Arduino/seeeduino projec...

Re: Cooling Water
Hi, I did put a little bit of anti-freeze in my water tank. Initially filled with de-ionized water. It helped to reduce the number of small bubbles I was getting when I was starting the laser. I did put only a little, something like 1/2 litre. I had to run the pump for a little while (10 minutes) be...

Re: Adding mirror to see what's happening?
Hi, I was considering myself adding an inspection window to my 6840 as well. I have the 60w tube which extends slightly on the right of the machine. How did you setup ? Any chance of a picture ? Should I worry of any laser scattered light leaks ? Can I simply replace the metal box with an acrylic on...
