Re: Setting up Newlydraw on new computer - help
Now resolved. The HPC CD I used yesterday was a HPC INSTALLATION CD but had no setup filemon it. This morning I found a CD which simply said HPC SOFTWARE. This did have the Setup program on it - I ran it and all is now well. LS 3020 still a brilliant little machine for the price, and only 200 hours ...

Setting up Newlydraw on new computer - help
New Windows XP laptop (well £99 refurb - but is working OK) to run Newlydraw for cutting on my LS3020. Dongle in, copied Newlydraw directory from CD to laptop and Newlydraw runs fine but after loading dxf file and going to ENGRAVE the Factory and Model drop-down boxes are empty. Where do I find the ...

Re: sticky back plastic
Thanks Dave A really useful list of plastics. I have had success with A4 double-sided adhesive sheets off Ebay. I use Thin Mylar sheets to make detailed fencing etc for model railway. I peel off one side from adhesive sheet, stick to Mylar, laser and then what you have are self-adhesive Mylar parts!...

Re: Summer & Water Temp
I put Milton in my water and I think it reacted with the copper pipes in the chiller to turn the water a VERY thick orange colour. This deposited itself on the laser and I had to change it as power went down rapidly. Milton may be fine with normal pump but if you use it with HPC chiller I advise you...

This product is no longer available - shame it was ideal for some of my small railway mounting jobs.

Re: Corel Draw X6
Double check that the home and student version of X6 reads and writes the .dxf files (or at least another supported format) before you buy it. I believe it does not but would love to know from someone who has it that it does!
I was hoping to buy it myself but need .dxf for my 3020

Re: LS3020 is not cutting properly.
This may not be helpful in your case, but I had 250 hours on a tube when it gave the results you are experiencing. It would cut a little on low power but not at all as I turned it up. It turned out to be the water. I had put some Milton in to stop it going green. I use an HPC cooler and the water wa...

Re: Photo engraveing
Hi I photoengrave on my 3020 using coreldraw and corelphoto. Load your photo into corelphoto, find the convert to black and white option and then in the drop down Box you have various 'dithering' options, halftone etc. THere are three with strange names, I can only remember Stucki, but they all conv...
