Re: Ghosting

Cheers Dave, took the whole assembly apart and reassembled it and that seems to have done the trick. Next query, I don't suppose you have any idea where I might be able to get a replacement 'base plate' for the laser head? (the bit that the posts that hold the 4 bearings slot into) I've managed to s...

Re: Ghosting

Hi Dave,
do you mean the bearing idler on the right hand side of the belt? I'll double check but it seems to be moving smoothly.

Ghosting

Hi folks, looking for a little help. I'm having issues with 'ghosting' on engraving, where the back and forth passes are not alligning correctly. I've just changed the x axis bearings and that appears to have caused it. It looks fine if I uncheck the Bi-Dir box, but it's much more noticeable than pr...

Re: New tube intallation

Thanks for the reply Dave, possibly a silly question, but are the water tubes just held in place on the tube via their own tightness? Looking at my current one it's difficult to tell if there's any adhesive involved or not.

New tube intallation

So, it appears after 4 productive years I finally need a new tube. I was going to pop over to HPC and pick one up to install myself, but was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on fitting? Physically it looks fairly simple (clamp in place, reattach power and align) but I was wondering if th...

Re: Final mirror / weird kerf

no joy, shimmed the mirror so the beam is exiting the nozzle in the centre at each corner of the bed and this is still happening. piece closest to the set square is on the edge that is being cut 'straight' the other one is on the opposite edge. if i turn them both 90 degrees then there isn't a probl...

Re: Final mirror / weird kerf

Thanks! yeah, i knew it was off centre in the nozzle already, just hadn't occurred to me to use a non standard fix for it :)

Final mirror / weird kerf

Hi, finally fixed my power issue, but I've just noticed an issue with the final alignment. Laser is cutting fine and the alignment going into the hole on the head is central/consistent, however the cuts seem to be tilted, as if the beam is not vertical after hitting the final mirror, the left hand e...

Power drop

Hi, I'm having a few issues with my laser and i'm wondering if it might be new tube time. The issue seems to be, that power is dropping rapidly on longer cuts, for example, if I cut a shape as one long cut, it tends to not cut the later section cleanly, where as if i cut the same shape as several in...

3020, not that I can see, the only way to adjust it that I can tell would be to remove the whole 'plate' that the nozzle is mounted on and stick a couple of washers underneath it.
