Re: Lasercut 5.3 designing templates
The problem with the array function is that if you draw out a square 30x30mm say, and then array it, the machine will cut every square individually, so the lines where the squares meet will get lasered twice, wasting time. We were wanting to create a grid pattern of horizontals and verticals to make...

Lasercut 5.3 designing templates
Hi, We have just had an LS6040 installed and we're having a bit of trouble designing new cutting templates for it. They only have to be basic squares and rectangles in a grid but without the rulers it is making it a nightmare to get the lines to connect. We can draw a rectangle and copy it into a bo...

Re: Horizontal belt on a 3020
Apologies for not getting back earlier, I got a couple of matchsticks and and managed to get my fingers under the rail just enough to pop the belt back on. Took a while though!

Horizontal belt on a 3020
We've been happily lasering for a while, but something else has come up now! It was in the middle of a run tonight, when suddenly the head stopped moving. The belt anchoring roller/runner thing on the left hand side (underneath the black plastic horizontal strip) has come loose, so the belt is now d...

Re: Newbie with a 3020
Righty then, only just got chance to update! On Tuesday I packed up the machine and headed down to HPC headquarters in Halifax. Their premises are easy to find, and only 10 minutes from the M62. Both Chris and the lady in the reception were very friendly, and I spent an hour and a half in the worksh...

Re: Newbie with a 3020
Leon, Don't run without air assist, on a 50.8mm focal length lens the fumes will travel into the air cone and damage the final lens. Flaming can also be a problem too, if that gets to the lens it will damage the coating on it. best wishes Dave I'd rather not if I could help it, but I had orders to ...

Re: Newbie with a 3020
Yeah, I had that problem, I hadn't even known the air assist was there! I've had to turn it back off again at the moment though, as without extraction, the air assist just pushes all the smoke out of the lid of the machine.

Re: Newbie with a 3020
The software has been OK for me, but then I'm only doing the most basic of jobs with my machine. One thing I'm not sure about though, is whether the files get corrupted somehow? I can set a file going, find that the cuts are all out of whack, redraw the exact same file, set it going and suddenly the...

Re: Newbie with a 3020
I've got no problem with the warranty, or taking it down to HPC, I was just told two different things, so thought it was odd. Driving out to every customer who had a niggle would cost far too much for them. I'm also fine with getting to grips with the machine and learning how to look after it myself...

Re: Newbie with a 3020
Just thought I'd update this one here, as I'm having no luck getting in touch with anyone at HPC. During the phone call mentioned above, Chris said to send an email to arrange a technician visit, which I did immediately after the call. That was on the 4th April. By the 13th, I'd had no reply, so I s...
