Re: Fume Filtering

I know this is an old thread but.... I have the Bofa Oracal, and I have to say, it is a very impressive piece if equipment. I purchased it for similar reasons to you (worried about neighbours complaining) and am pleased I did. Its quiet and efficient. In 30 months I have had to replace the filters o...

Re: Jagged edges on angles

HPC were really helpful when I called them about this. I forget the name of the guy I spoke to but he explained what could be the causes and some possible fixes. I tried adjusting the tension in the X and Y axis belts a little, which reduced the problem a little but did not eliminate it. I realised ...

Jagged edges on angles

Hi Everyone

My 3060 is a couple of years old now and I am starting to notice jagged edges when cutting 6mm ply either at an angle or large radii.

I have cleaned and oiled the slideways and checked they run freely.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Kindest Regards
Tim.

round and round it goes

I am thinking of expanding my mini empire / part time stuff making business to include engraving an cutting (tubes) of circular items, such as glasses, tubes, rolling pins, columns... you get the picture... Has anyone got experience with the HPC rotary attachment for the 3060? Is it easy to set up /...

Re: BOFA Filters

Hi James

Thanks for the detailed response, I will definitely be trying that when my filters need replacing again. I cut a mixture of ply and acrylic (about a 70/30 split) so I may be able to save a few quid in the long run... (I will try anything once)

Regards
Tim

Re: BOFA Filters

After talking to HPC I decided to change both filters... (They are always very helpful). I have to say, I totally forgot how quiet the BOFA filter unit is when you have new filters fitted... It is whisper quiet ad makes less noise than the laser!.... I was a little taken aback by how quickly lights ...

BOFA Filters

Hi I have one of the BOFA extractors (it's excellent) and the fan speed is increasing (5 lights now), so I guess I will need to be buying some replacement filters very soon. My question is, do I need to purchase both or just one of the two? I have had the machine 18 months and cut mainly plywood and...

Re: Belts worn

Give HPC a call, they are very helpful and stock many more spares than they list on their website.

Re: Grade Engrave... Oh Really?

I have had limited success with Grade Engrave, but I only use vector graphics, not image files My understanding is that is produces a ramp up to the feature (like a tree root). I have tried it with some rubber stamps and it does give support to fine detail (it effectively tapers from the bottom of t...
