Re: hi from szaxe

Well thanks for all the great advice, I think you all have stopped me from making a big mistake in purchasing a laser cutting machine, or at least until I have a workshop. I actually think I have found an alternative while I'm experimenting, which I will spend a bit more time investigating, being ei...

Re: hi from szaxe

The issue with fumes is one of purpose, I could run this machine and pump out as much smoke as I like (so long as it's not black smoke due to the Clean Air Act) all day every day as a hobby, the worst case scenario is the neighbours 300 yards away may get hacked off but I'd be very unlikely to get ...

Re: hi from szaxe

They are machine tools in effect buddy, same with all machinery like them I guess. I know your right mate, just got a little disheartened. I have actually been rethinking and realized that for prototypes the material /s I use are neither here nor there :) so feeling positive again :D What I need to...

Re: hi from szaxe

The reason I am shying away from the bofa idea is that I listened to a couple of videos of lasers with and without an apparently "quiet" fan, getting such a constant buzz down to an acceptable level would be another £1000 on top of the £1600 for the bofa, not taking account the delivery, f...

Re: hi from szaxe

I think everyone is misreading what I write  I don't live in a built up area, I will probably use it a half an hour here and there and probably a damn sight less than most hobbyists probably ... If I decide to produce anything I will be renting a workshop.

I will be mainly using pine :)

Re: hi from szaxe

Seeing one in action would be usefull Just read your post above your last one, which I missed :) My last answer must have seemed strange  I am actually on the edge of a village. The block of flats (not city type flats) I live in is the height of a house, four ground floor flats and four 1st fl...

True, but did you read my last post above?

It appears a good majority of users on all the forums I have read use a quiet inline extractor, so just wondering about the distance necessary to dissipate the fumes?
