Re: Strange tracing problem with Inkscape?

Cheers Dave,

I can't seem to find how to flatten the image.
I deffo think it's a layer issue, just can't work it out.

I've managed to draw in what's needed with draftsight. It's not perfect but woul dneed a keen eye to spot it.

Thanks anyway,
Rog

Strange tracing problem with Inkscape?

Hi everyone. I'm pulling my hair out with inkscape. I don't usually have a problem with tracing images in Inkscape but now and again I do and I can't for the life of me work out what's happening. Normally you pull a file into Inkscape, path->trace bitmap = no problem. Now and again I have a file tha...

Any Draftsight experts? - font issues

Anyone any good with Draftsight? I've just installed the latest version of Draftsight Professional 2019 to my windows 10 laptop. I've downloaded some fonts (TTF) and installed them on my machine. They are available to use in Word etc.. but aren't showing in Draftsight. Has anyone had this problem? I...

Re: LS1290 speeds

Hi, I suspected it may be mm/s I've found 400 is usually ok for everything else I've engraved, I'm just struggling to find the sweet spot for this new stuff. And yeah, a % isn't much use without knowing the speeds or what their machine speed is capable of. After messing with it this afternoon, I've ...

LS1290 speeds

Hi, Does anyone know what the maximum engraving speed a 1290 can run at? I'm asking as I have switched to a different brand of engraving laminate. The supplier has quoted a speed in % for the best quality result. The laminate is better quality but I'm struggling to engrave it as good as the old stuf...

laser bed mats?

Hi guys, I have an issue with items being marked on the underside when being cut out. It's where the laser exits the material and is obviously hitting the cross pieces of the bed frame. On acrylic it makes a chip like mark on the edges. MDF you get a slight burn/discolouration. My laser has had some...

Re: Adobe Illustrator to Lasercut 5.3

Another decent free CAD program is Draftsight.
My wife also uses inkscape (also free) which is more of a design suite (like illustrator).

If you use draftsight, just make sure you close the drawing when wanting to import to lasercut or else it won't open.

DRAFTSIGHT - issues!!

Hi guys, this is going to be a long one so sit down with a cuppa.... I'll try and keep it as short, sweet and simple as possible as it's confusing me and may not be able to explain it properly without it sounding like gobbledy gook so bare with me. I'm new to lasercutting I have an OK grasp of Draft...
