Even drawing a simple square using the program and not importing any dxfs? If so, have you got the correct software for the machine?

Are you starting with a fresh file? Saved files can hide all sorts of problems!

Sounds like you have some sort of scaling, or inches>mm issue.

What size does a 100mm square arrive into Lasercut?

Nope, not without changing the board and controller.

I design in a mix of corel and cad and just use lasercut to import the dxf.

Yup, it can be a shit.

The second happens (freezing and firing) when you dont give it at least 2-3 seconds after the download finished before pressing start, i can reproduce this. Mine has done this a few times!

You can nest if they are just a one off. There are 2 boxes at the bottom Gap along X, and gap along Y. this will offset the next line. you can also specify a negative in the gap to get them all closer together. With triangles, You copy the one you have, and flip it. Then you can specify a negative g...

You dont have to close and reopen, you can save the file and it stores the data.
