yep .. I'm with dave .. get your tube from HPC if you don't know what you are doing with it. I've had a couple of broken tubes from china (different machines) .. and the last couple I've just bought from HPC BTW .. saying you can't afford a tube .. should be pre planned and included in your prices. ...

ta .. just one for the memory banks
with thicker MDF, I sometimes find it better to focus into the material.
In my head I call it a tighter focus .. but you don't want to see inside my head ! lol

Have you tried masking.
some people cleaning with chemicals find it causes tiny cracking/crazing further down the time line

I think you need to put it into context, we're not talking about any discernable levels of HCN being produced laser cutting and engraving sheeps wool felt. Maybe a warehouse or factory full of the stuff going up would pose a significant risk, which is more relevant to the link posted. Regards Pedro...

also, I'm pretty sure , somewhere in my memory banks, I've read that burning wool gives off cyanide gas .
So worth checking and making sure you're extraction and ventilation is all spot on
