Re: Newbie with a 3020

I don’t want to rant about this really, when the laser works I am the happiest man alive, when it’s down I am as miserable as sin… that’s what my wife says anyway, but I do have a view on it. Would I buy another one.. yes, but I would buy the next model up and get the better hardware. That’s been pa...

Re: Newbie with a 3020

I don't have a problem with return to base warranty. But having some sort of technical agent network would be a good idea. I am a design engineer and some of the problems I have had to sort out myself are well beyond the normal abilities of most “users” The way warranty works if an agent is called o...

Re: Newbie with a 3020

Try get Chris on hi mobile number, he normally phones back pretty quick.

I discovered the same thing re warranty call outs/servicing etc, I would have to hire a van and drive 600miles to take the laser back for a simple warranty problem. the warranty is worthless to me.

sorry

Re: Pics of what youve done

Heres a guitar amp I built with the help of a laser cutter, the light up logo and faceplates where all done on the engraver, the rear panel mesh was cut out on the engraver, with the Gryphin text I made jigs out of 8mm acrylic for a wood router to follow, these were used to machine the oval shaped h...

Re: £50 upgrades to 3020 pro

Wow, didnt realise you had engraved all the brickwork, I thought it was printed, that looks Fab! Are you doing this to sell or just for your own use, if your doing it for sale another area that you could cross over too is dolls houses / furniture. not the kids stuff. My Mother inlaw bought a dolls h...

Re: £50 upgrades to 3020 pro

Looks good, I might steel the water temp air/ temp trick , is your machine in a warm room? ~20 Degrees is tropical at this time of year.

Are the models for fun / train sets?

Re: 3020 lens cleaning

On my one you don’t have to remove the tube from the cone, if you loosen the cone there is enough slack to get it off.
Very important point about the orientation of the lens, it works both ways but has 20% more power if fitted in the correct orientation, i.e. with the curve surface facing up.

Re: Oh s.. dear!

Dave you are my Hero, changed my lens around last night and was able to reduce the power needed by 20-25%%!!
so its working better than it ever has now.

I am sure my machine came with it the other way around?

I dont suppose it matters much except your focal point will be slighty different?
