I would buy MDF that is specifically marketed for laser cutting.
It's cheap as fook online so you'd be a fool not to.

LaserCut 5.3 Shortcuts
Just accidentally discovered that ctrl+G opens the size/scale options in LaserCut.
This will shave seconds off my processing times so thought I'd share.
Any other useful LaserCut shortcuts?

Re: Fume Filtering
Hi James, Thanks very much for taking the time to reply and with such good answers. I mostly cut Perspex branded and glitter acrylic but have recently been doing a littlebit with walnut/cherry/maple veneered MDF so have to factor that in although it isn't a lot. I'm looking at the BOFA AD 500 iQ whi...

Fume Filtering
Hello once again! We're moving and for my new workshop I'm going to have to get some kind of filter due to having a few neighbours who might be upset with plastic stink floating about (have you ever cut blue Perspex? Smells like drains!). Looking at the IQ BOFAs but want some advice if there's any a...

Re: LEAVE LASER ON/OFF ALL DAY
Chiller on 24/7 and laser on until finished, switching on and off throughout the day could cause more problems than help.

Re: Z Axis Slipping
I'd hope not after just a year.
Strangely it is working just fine today, very odd.
Overdue a service really so I'll just annoy the engineer with it when the time comes.

Re: Is Lasercut or Newly draw single user Licence ?
Is there such a thing as 'single use software'? If I bought it then it's mine to sell and to hell with your convoluted terms and conditions. Software licencing is a strange beast at the best of times. This reminds me, when I sold my 3040 the guy said he didn't need the dongle/software but for some s...

Z Axis Slipping
Ayo, been a while I know.. been keeping busy and not much to report. Need some advice though, the Z Axis on my machine has always occasionally had a bit of a groan but since a couple of days ago almost constantly grinds and makes a terrible noise while not doing much. If I open the front door and as...

Re: Mylar
I have the same machine and am cutting a similar material to mylar at S:30 P:16 .. you kind of have to experiment to get the right results for your material though.
