There are some minor issues with using knarl'd out beams (ie: getting them straight by the final mirror only) but it only really affects the bigger machines with full flying optics like the 1290 and 1690 where the distances involved get pretty long

think backwards, the screws usually PUSH the mirror away from themselves when you turn clockwise
(from somebody that just spent 3 hours realigning a 1290 !!)

Chiller goes on and off with the machine, hope that isn't an issue. Wouldn't want to leave it all running 24/7 no way. Hasn't properly frozen here in Wiltshire for years despite what the Express seems to warn annually :lol: The start stop cycle on the chiller is the time most likely to cause bubble...

Does keeping the chiller running stop freezing? (sorry if this is a stooooopid question :? ) I have the antifreeze in mine... But always turn the chiller off.... Never considered it would be advantageous to keep it running.... :? It's up to you Tim If you just had water in then the pump would keep ...

I never do Ed, everytime it's drained there is a chance I'm going to forget something when I get back (it's an age thing, I'm 50 next week)

Pine is a bit tricky with the grain and resin etc. It cuts and etches/engraves unevenly often. :lol: These lasers seem to be a bit of a minefield once you get passed the glossy brochures :D They are machine tools in effect buddy, same with all machinery like them I guess. The literature is accurate...
