Can we assume from this that a winner will be announced, in this forum, on, or before, the 3rd August then? It would be great to see a photo of all the entries after the competition closes. :D

Call me cynical... But...

The Original "end date" passed before the extension was announced, and was only then announced in response to my question regarding a winner...
There has been no comments from HPC since the "new end date" (assumed to be August 1st as competition was extended by a month) has passed

Leads me to a few possible options...
There were very few entries so the competition has been abandoned without even a thanks for entering but... communication to those who took the time to design, make and post an entry.
The competition was a rouse to get free designs from people and HPC never intended to give a prize

None of these options paint a pretty picture for HPC.... in one instance they have not effectively communicated with their customers, and in the other they have been fraudulent...

I put a lot of thought and effort into my entry, because I had assumed this was a real competition. So I for one am disappointed there has not been an announcement regarding the winner. I dont care about winning or loosing... but I do care about wasting my time on competitions that are not honoured, no matter who wins them.

Of course there may just as easily be a perfectly reasonable explanation for this "misunderstanding" so I am going to reserve judgement... for now...

Well done both - would be good to see pictures of the winning items.

Tim - there, cynicism not required! :) Those of us who have known HPC for a good few years know how busy they can get and no doubt the forum and competition call fall off the radar during those busy times and to be fair Mathew did not say the winners will be announced on a specific date either !

I suspect the comp was extended due to lack of response - most users only tend to visit the forum when trouble hits (I know this from days when I was helping as a Mod) so few may have seen it. I have no reason to doubt the intentions of HPC and I honestly can't see why you would think they would want to obtain designs by deception.

I think as you made your feelings public a public apology to HPC is in order ;)

Best
