Here you will find a set of speeds that have proved useful in the past.
It's by no means a conclusive list or should be taken as gospel but will simply provide a good starting point.
Best wishes

Re: Speed & Feedrates (Ongoing topic)
Tube Power 80 Watts, Temperature 15 degrees C.
To get a figure for lower power tubes try the following.
For 40 watt Divide Speed by 4 and multiply by 3 (using the same power setting)
For 60 Watt do the same and take a Speed figure midway between 40 and 80 watt (Using the same power setting)
MDF (Medite Type)
2.1mm (2mm) Speed 30 Power 65
3.2mm (3mm) Speed 22 Power 75
4.2mm (4mm) Speed 16 Power 75
6.25mm (6mm) Speed 8 Power 80
Plywood (Birch Laser Type)
0.6mm
1mm
1.5mm
2mm
3mm
4mm
6mm
Acrylic (Cast)
3mm
4mm
5mm
6mm
Acrylic (Extruded)
1mm
2mm
3mm
4mm
5mm
6mm
Data points will be added over the next few hours
