LS4020

Post by shellglen69 »

Hi
I am new to this forum and wondered if any of you guys can help me.
I have just brought a ls4020, the machine is great and i am very pleased with it.
but i am so confused when i try and set the bed size to max which is A4 it still trys to cut on the metal casing.
The software (newly draw) is so confussing when you go to the parameters settings, there are 8 pictures of the x y axis
but i dont seem to be able to get it to start at top left it is set at top right as it keeps going there no matter what i do.
I brought a laser 2 years ago and sold it as i had similar problems with setting it, i really want to learn to use this machine can someone please help me with this i am gettig so confussed and frustrated, i followed all instructions in the manual, and still it wont do what i want it t do.

Any help will be welcome

thanks

OK
i input the settings you gave me and it still goes crazy.

i have settings as follows

A4 w308 h220
model is set at jsm40U as stated in manual
device setting is top row 3rd from left
engrave setting x 2mm y 92mm
material along back edge long ways and short side down right edge.

when i go to cut a box comes up and says material is out of machine.

if i draw a box it scrapes along edges and goes around whole machine.
i have to stop machine as it is still trying to start over the metal casing.

Hi Mechelle,
I've might be talking rubbish, but, I've just looked at CNC Zone.com and there is some mention of Newly Draw not working with Vista or ME but it states that it works with XP. Any help :?:

Trev,

Try right clicking and select compatibility mode then select one of the earlier OS types :)

best wishes
