Heres a bit of fun, Who can do the smallest text on a novelty item, i.e pen/seed/button etc...
I have seen this on grains of rice but what can we do in blighty?
you will need to do single direction engraving ....but eho knows what expand gap does???

Here we go - a 1mm chequers board (may take some time to make the chess pieces though )
It's not perfect because I was using minimum power (in order to keep the dot size small) and the laser needs a bit of warming up - so for the next attempt I will try using a 'border' so the tube will be primed and ready for the dots (perhaps it will work, perhaps it won't)
In theory I should be able to get this down to 0.5mm square but don't hold your breath waiting
