ENGRAVING AND ETCHING BRASS

Post by spectrumsigns »

Hi, we are new to the Laser side of the business, and have just purchased a 80 watt machine. i was wondering if it was possible to engrave on brass using the black etching paint. I understand you can with stainless and anodized ally. Any help would be great. Thanks

Not reliably, Brass is a terrible substrate to work with, it corrodes very quickly in air and thermark / cermark etc doesn't take very well due to the copper content. It will look great to start then rub off quite quickly.

cheers
