Z Axis Slipping

Post by llamalasers »

Ayo, been a while I know.. been keeping busy and not much to report.

Need some advice though, the Z Axis on my machine has always occasionally had a bit of a groan but since a couple of days ago almost constantly grinds and makes a terrible noise while not doing much. If I open the front door and assist it by hand it moves well so I assume the belt is becoming a bit loose.

Any ideas and advice with regards to this will be greatly appreciated.

Check the roller the belts runs on - the bearing can wear away ;)

I'd hope not after just a year.

Strangely it is working just fine today, very odd.
Overdue a service really so I'll just annoy the engineer with it when the time comes.

Depends how much engraving you do and how clean you keep the machine ;)
