HPC 3060

Post by dreamcatcher »

Hi
We have had an HPC 3020 for the last 3 years and had fun using it. We managed to create a (very) small business mostly making items for family and friends. We are thinking about investing in a bigger laser and looking at the 3060. I doubt that our budget will go beyond this one.
What do people think of the 3060? Is it a big improvement on the 3020?

Thank you very much. :)

I have two 3060's 60 watt and for the work I do they are ideal - Buying stock in A3 or 600x300 is better now as well.

If the 3020 was Newlydraw going to LaserCut may take a bit of playing with but is better in lots of ways.

The latest 3060's have improved extraction layout (I had to replace an older 3060 last year so now have one of each). Plus they have a through door so you can get larger sheets in if required (cutting area is still 600x300).

What I also like is they do not take up a lot of room (about 2.5' by 4.5' with the 60w tube).

Hi Dave

Thanks for the info. The 3020 is using Lasercut 5.3 so we are familiar with the software. It certainly took us a while to get the hang of it. Looks like we will go with the 3060. Thanks :D

No problems ;)

Don't expect a massive increase in speeds etc as the 3020 is a good machine and going from 40 to 60w will make a difference but not double the speed for example.

Thanks Dave. The 3020 has developed a fault and won't fire even after a new tube. We spoke to HPC and they tried to help but we are thinking it's a good excuse to upgrade a bit. We are a long way from them so a callout would be expensive. Good thought about the 60w we'll probably do that.
Thank you for your help. No doubt we'll be asking for more advice when we have the new 3060. :D :D
