LS6840 Recommended Settings

Post by davehills »

Just had the tube replaced in my LS6840 and it has made a world of difference. It's now cutting twice the speed it was before! (Tube power was down to about 30w)

Problem is, the recommended settings are now obsolete...does anyone have a list of recommended speed/power settings for a 60w LS6840? (Ply/MDF/Acrylic)?

Thanks in advance..

New tubes do cut well but they power can drop off over a period of time

My 60w - I use 17S @65P for ply/mdf, 16 @ 68 for 3mm acrylic but I have air compressor so can adjust the air assist so best find the setting that suit you to be honest ;)

I have a 60w on a 3060 and use the following settings without issue...

6mm ply 6mm/s - 8mm/s @ 85% (depending on supplier and grade)
3mm Ply 17mm/s @ 85%

3mm acrylic 15mm/s @ 85%
3mm acrylic 8mm/s @ 85%

you may get different results.. but it may be a good starter for 10

I do not cut MDF so i am not able to help with that..

I like to use poplar. Its lighter than ply

The settings i use

For 3mm Poplar speed 28 power 45 (these were on my old tube which i've just replaced last week so could definitely drop the power)

For 3mm acrylic i use speed 10 power 30 (this is a setting i know has always worked so i don't bother changing)

I do cut mdf but not sure of the power for it since having a new tube
