Frosted effect?

Post by MC Design »

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get this effect on clear acrylic? Iv seen pieces come out of the machine at college that are frosted, but everytime i try it no matter how low the power it just comes out slightly recessed and clear. Is it a gap setting maybe?

(im on a 3040 btw, using clear acrylic)

Is it even possible?

For referance->

Firstly are you sure that this is acrylic ? I have seen this on polycarbonate, which looks like acrylic. I put pictures on to clear acrylic at 400 (speed ) / 25 ( power ) 0.075 gap on a 40w 3040 machine.
Hope that this helps.

Good evening

The perspex must be CAST acrylic.

CAST acrylic usually has a write film on both surfaces.

If you don't have any PM me and I will send you a sample to try.
