When engraving acrylic how controlable is the engraving depth. eg, could I create a negative for casting latex or plaster of paris ?

is there any way to determine how close the laser tube is to the end of its useful life ? (aside from just counting runtime)

How often to the laser optics need cleaning and/or adjusting ?

has anyone tried cutting sheet nylon or delrin ?
