New Mirror mounts.

Post by DukeEuphoria »

I've finally got fed up with the mirror mounts on my 3040.
Currently alignment is a two day chore with no guarantee of success, just a slow incremental drift towards slightly better.

Has anyone tried fitting more robust and more easily adjustable mirror mounts to any of the laser script machines ?

Something like these for example...

Also, while I'm at it, any tips for flattening the honeycomb bed ?
I think mine may have moles.

I hot glue gunned the honeycomb bed to the aluminium base on my LS3020. Works for me :D

As for the mirror mounts, once aligned, should stay solid! You could always buy some thumbscrews to replace the 3 corner bolts.

A few guys have modded the existing mirrors with thumb screws and spring mounts.
Here is a picture of the mods I did to mine,

I have seen a better job by someone else on this forum since doing this though so doing some searching might help.

I have not had to adjust my mirrors for some time now. so it works a treat.

Make sure your engraver is on a firm surface that doesn't move, the frames are just thin sheet metal and if its not set even or is moved all the time it could affect the mirror alignment.
